Professor Gwyneth Pitt has been a professor in Kingston Law School since 2007. She was Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law from 2002-2006, and before that held posts as Senior Lecturer in Law and Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Leeds and Professor of Law and Head of the School of Law at the University of Huddersfield. A graduate of the University of Leeds, Gwyneth Pitt has also taught at Leeds Polytechnic, the University of Nottingham and the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Her teaching and research interests cover the fields of employment and equality law, in which she has published widely, jurisprudence, business law and business ethics. She is a member of the editorial board of the Industrial Law Journal. Professor Pitt is currently the Chair of the Joint Academic Stage Board, set up by the Bar Standards Board and the Solicitors Regulation Authority to oversee the Academic Stage of Training for the two professions, and was previously a member of the Common Professional Examination Board. She is also a member of the Education and Training Committee of the Bar Standards Board. While at the University of Huddersfield, Professor Pitt held office as Chair of the Committee of Heads of University Law Schools.
