Biography

Raymond Youngs joined the Law School in 2005. He is a senior research fellow at the Institute of Global Law at University College London, and has translated German statutory material and cases for the website of the Institute of Transnational Law at the University of Texas. He is the author of English French and German Comparative Law (Routlegde-Cavendish, 2nd edit 2007; first edition translated into Georgian) and Sourcebook on German Law (Routledge-Cavendish, 2nd edit 2002), He was initially employed as a solicitor in private practice and subsequently in local government. He then taught law at Southampton Institute and from 2002 to 2005 worked as a lawyer for the Law Commission. He also taught German legal translation, part-time, at the University of Surrey.
