Nicola started working at Kingston in 1999 as a research assistant to the Jean Monnet Chair. She became a full time lecturer in 2001, teaching across a number of disciplines including Public Law and Civil Liberties & Human Rights. Nicola was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy in 2004 for a project on student engagement. Nicola was made Course Director for the LLB programmes in 2004 and made principal lecturer. She was Director of Studies from 2011 to 2013.

Nicola is module leader for Land Law at both UG and PG level.
Nicola was awarded the NTF for projects focusing on student engagement for which she was awarded a £50,000 prize. This has led to career development in designing and managing courses at Kingston with an emphasis on employability for undergraduates. Nicola also has long experience in admissions to the Law School and was responsible for stategic development while Director of Studies.
Nicola is an Associate Researcher with the Centre for Law and Religion at Cardiff University
