Professor He Jiahong the latest high profile international figure to address Kingston Law School

Prominent scholar and Director of the Center for Anti-Corruption and Rule of Law at Renmin University of China Professor He Jiahong visited Kingston Law School and delivered a guest lecture on anti-corruption in China. Regarded as the country’s leading authority on miscarriages of justice, and an advisor to China’s Supreme Court his research has been instrumental in overturning wrongful convictions. The talk provided participants with a unique insight into the Chinese criminal law system.
In addition to his legal and teaching work, Professor Jiahong is an editor and writer, publishing on legal matters and also writing crime novels. He is author of Back from the Dead: Criminal Justice and Wrongful Convictions in China, which includes an overview of frequent causes of wrongful convictions.
Over the summer the renowned lawyer, Professor John C Coffee of Colombia University Law School delivered a keynote address entitled The Wolf at the Door: The Impact of Hedge Fund Activism on Corporate Governance at the Twenty Fifth Annual World Business Congress of the International Management Development Association (IMDA) hosted by Kingston University. At the same event Kingston Law School was well represented in special plenary session on legal and policy issues in a globalising world. Dr Lorenzo Pasculli, Director of the Integrity Research Group delivered a presentation on prevention of corruption. Dr Pasculli will sign a Memorandum of Understanding for research cooperation with the Center for Anti-Corruption.
