We need some European solutions, says leading lawyer receiving honorary doctorate -

‘Human rights’ should not be regarded as a term of abuse and the European Court of Human Rights has led to valuable reforms and raised standards across Europe, according to leading lawyer and academic Sir Francis Jacobs. He was speaking at a graduation ceremony on January 19 where he accepted an honorary Doctor of Laws from Kingston University for his outstanding contribution to European Union Law.

Making the cut -

A law graduate who swapped the barristers' chambers for the movie studios has had huge success with his very first feature film. Successful barrister Leslie Thomas, who graduated from Kingston Law School in 1988, had spent 21 years at the Bar before he took a career break and decided to invest in his first movie, becoming an executive producer of the critically-acclaimed blockbuster We Need to Talk About Kevin.
